.........

What can you do when your good isn't good enough?
When all that you touch tumbles down?
'Cause my best intentions keep making a mess of things
I just wanna fix it somehow
But how many times will it take?
Oh, how many times will it take for me?
To get it right
- Get It Right (Glee's Original Song) -

A wise man once said 'I love walking in the rain, cause then no-one knows I'm crying.' But there's this poor girl who is too afraid to walk in the rain cause she's scared her body will get sick. The pain in her heart is already too much to be taken care of. So she has a different way.

Whenever I get sad, I love to turn on a music in my room. I turn it out so loud so that no-one will hear me and know I'm crying. I lock the door so no one will be able to open it and just pretend that I didn't hear they knocked on my door, cause, well, I said I turn the music so loud, right?

I know everyone has their own way to achieve their happiness. Everyone has their own highs and lows. I try and try to see the world in a different way, many different ways. From every perspective you see the world, you'll find some new positive points right? So does some negative points. But sometimes, at the end of the day, all of those negative things just come haunting me and make me feel even more vulnerable. And it's happening right now.

I know there'll be a rainbow after the rain. I hope the sky will get brighter soon so the rain will stop pouring and the rainbow will finally arrive.

The Dean of Decorator

Don't forget to check out my first ever guest post at Susanne's blog, Kegle99, here. Hope you like it :)

-------

A few months ago, I bought a book about interior decoration. On the first chapter, I found a quote by someone named Billy Baldwin. It was this

And I suddenly felt in love with that. I mean, it’s totally true right? So I was curious, who is this Billy Baldwin? Then I googled ‘Billy Baldwin’ and all I found is about an actor whose name is just the same.

But then, a couple days ago, I was trying to find some interior design quotes, and I found many lovely quotes that were from the same person, Mr. Billy Baldwin. Obviously, he’s well known in interior design industry. I got even more curious and I googled ‘Billy Baldwin interior designer’, then finally, I found some infos about him.

Billy Baldwin (1903-1984) was a very famous American interior designer/decorator in 20th century. He was at once a classicist and a modernist. He is the man who gave us the slipper chair and brass bookcase.

His style is elegant, simple, and practical. This style became defined as American style. Every spaces he decorated were both beautiful and comfortable. He once said ‘Interior Design is the art of arranging beautiful things, comfortably’. He designed his rooms a long time ago, but they’re still loved. I think we can conclude that his designs are timeless.
He believed that a room should have a personal connection with the owner, that’s why he liked to keep some old furnitures of the owner . He didn’t decorate a room with some furnitures just because those furnitures are beautiful, but because his clients and him do love it. He said ‘Be faithful to your own taste because nothing you really like is ever out of style.’ And also ‘Stick to the things you really love. An honest room is always up to date.
I’ve mentioned some of the lovely quotes from Mr. Baldwin, now let me tell you a quote about him. This is from Adam Lewis, the author of ‘Billy Baldwin : The Great American Decorator”. And it’s...

‘Billy Baldwin did for decorating what Chanel did for fashion.’

ps : I really need an inspiration to finish my work right now. Hope it will come to me soon!

Friday's Fancies #2

I'm having days off again! WOOHOO! Good luck for all the 12th graders in Indonesia who are going to have their national final tests on next week, Monday until Thursday. Hope you'll do your very best!

Anyway, today, I'm gonna link up with {av} from Long Distance Loving to make my second Friday's Fancies post. Do you know that she's having a giveaway on her blog? And by linking up with her on this week's friday's fancies, you'll get an extra entry. So what are you waiting for? Come on link up with her!

Lately, I've been in love with coral color so I put it on this set.
1. I love this Pleated Dress from Zara. It's simple yet sophisticated. I would love to have it.

2. The first time I saw this beautiful MOTO Coral Jamie Ultimate Skinny Jeans at Topshop store, I was like 'Oh My God that is superb!!' And yes I still think it's superb. I really really love the color.

3. I think this Topshop's Coral Blush Lips in Ohh La La is a great choice of coral lipstick.

4. I always love forever21 accessories, and I think this Rose Multi Chain Bead Necklace from Forever21 will make whoever uses it looks more classy.

5. Actually, I don't like to wear nail polish since my nails are short and not beautiful at all, so I don't want my nails to take an attention. But since it's friday's fancies, where I can dream about anything I'd love to wear, I'm adding this Coral Reef from Picture Polish to this set. And do you know that Sarah Hassan is giving away 3 nail polishes from Picture Polish for free? Just go to her website. Who doesn't want 3 beautiful nail polishes as a gift, right?

6. A Forever21 Gift Card. What else do I need to say? I'd love to shop, but since I'm not rich, gift card is what I need.

7. Do you know that B-Hobo Coral Bag from Kelly Moore is actually a camera bag? Yes you can finally bring your camera with style. But you can wear it as your usual bag as well.

8. Loving that Vovan Wedges from Loeffler Randall. It looks edgy and cool.

So what do you think? Like it or not?

25 Minutes

Today, when I got so bored at school, I borrowed my friend's iPod. Then I found some songs I used to listen everyday but have completely forget about. Those songs are mostly from Westlife, Backstreet Boys, and Michael Learns to Rock. I bet you do know those groups right? They were so popular back then. And after I listened to their songs again today, I realized, they really deserved to be popular. They produced music with great quality.

Most of the musicians right now create songs just to increase their songs quantity without giving a deep thought into their songs. Most of the songs are easy and fun to be listened, but the lyrics are.... rubbish. I have to admit that I love the new songs too. But honestly, that kind of songs will stick in your brain for a while but then you will be bored and find some new songs instead.

But those three groups I heard again today, they really show their emotions in their songs. Their lyrics are so beautiful and make you think. Old songs also have beautiful melodies. No matter how often you hear their songs, you will always like them.

So, now I just want to share you one of my favorite songs from those three groups. It's a song about a boy who just decided to tell a girl that she was the one. And when she finally met that girl, she told him that he was too late. Well, just listen to it by yourself. You might have heard it already, but what's wrong with listening to a great song one more time, right? So, enjoy this song, 25 Minutes by Michael Learns to Rock.

Lyrics :
After some time I've finally made up my mind
She is the girl and I really want to make her mine
I'm searching everywhere to find her again
To tell her I love her
And I'm sorry 'bout the things I've done

I find her standing in front of the church
The only place in town where I didn't search
She looks so happy in her wedding dress
But she's crying while she's saying this

(*)
Boy I missed your kisses all the time but this is
Twenty five minutes too late
Though you travelled so far boy I'm sorry you are
Twenty five minutes too late

Against the wind I'm going home again
Wishing be back to the time when we were more than friends

But still I see her in front of the church
The only place in town where I didn't search
She looks so happy in her wedding dress
But she cried while she's saying this

Repeat (*)

Out in the streets
Places where hungry hearts have nothing to eat
Inside my head
Still I can hear the words she said

Repeat (*) twice

I can still hear her say

So, what do you think? Like it? ;)

Paper Sculpture

The art of folding papers is getting more and more popular each day. According to Jae Wagoner, Paper Sclupture is one of the most highly successful forms of advertising illustration. When it is appropriately used the viewer response is unsurpassed. People are fascinated with this art form. They do not know how the work is done, and it captures their attention in a way that regular illustration or photography cannot accomplish. One of his clients had some marketing research done to compare paper sculpture to illustration and photography. Based on the result, the reader rate of retention for paper sculpture was 25% higher than illustration and even 30% higher than photography. In fact, they found that readers even remembered the name of the product being advertised in conjunction with the paper sculpture.

I just discovered this sculptor named Jeff Nishinaka. He is amazing. He studied illustration at The Art Center College of Design, Pasadena, California, where he first experimented with paper art and sculptures. He graduated from there and has created sculptures ever since. Here are some of the lovely sculptures he's created.

Wednesday Wishes (2)

The 10 days full of studying in the middle of the semester are finally over. Yep, the mid tests are over!! :D So, today I'm gonna link up with Brooke at Bright Wishes to create my second Wednesday Wishes post. Here are my wishes :

One. To get good scores on the tests I just had. Especially on Math and Physics studies. I am a student in science program so four most important subjects for me are math, physics, chemistry, and biology. Since I already got the result of my chemistry and biology tests, math and physics are the only two left.

Two. To get some rest and enough sleep. These 10 days have been making me lose sleep. And I'm the kind of person who loves her sleep as much as she loves shopping.

found the picture here.

Three. To catch my dreams. I hope one day I'm gonna be able to become the interior designer of a famous boutique so when I'm going to a mall and my friend says 'That boutique sure has a great interior designer. I just can't stop myself from looking at it.' I can tell her 'I was the one who design it :)'.

found the picture here.

Four. To help other people reach their dreams. Any kind of good dream (I mean, I'm not gonna try to help people whose dream is to become a killer or stuffs :p). Yes I know I'm not a fairy godmother who can make all the wishes come true. I haven't even make mine comes true yet. But I'll try my best to help. And I'm pretty sure most of you would like to help each others too right? So what about helping Brooke? Do you know that Brooke and Mr. Charming is one of the three couple finalists on the Wedding Photo Giveaway from Caroline Ghetes Photography? They have such a cute and sweet story, and they really want to win this. And we can help them to become the winner just by going to this link and vote for couple #1. Hope you will all do that :)

Five. To win in any of the giveaways I'm participating. To check out those giveaways, just simply go to my previous post. And for all of you who already read it the first time I posted it, I just added some other links in case you want to enter more giveaways. We can never get tired of giveaways right? ;)

Yoohoo I'm 17 now!!! :D

Yep, I turned 17 yesterday. On Thursday, March 31st 2011. It's so exciting to read all the birthday wishes started from text messages, tweets, on my facebook wall, but it's even better when I hear people sing Happy Birthday to me and congratulate me in person. Yes it should be one of the best days of my life, but since I had a chemistry test the day after (which means today) I spent my day by studying and studying. And it turned out, the test was difficult. Gaah I'm so exhausted by this whole mid term thing.
