A New Beginning

Hey all, it's December 30th already. And since I'm not gonna be here tomorrow night to say it, I'll just tell you now

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2011!!

Well honestly, 2010 hasn't been my best year, but it's still very memorable. Maybe I'm gonna list down some things I hope I'll never ever forget.

1. I joined Media Siswa in my school, and it's one thing that I never regret. I met some really cool friends who also love the things I love, such as photo editing and other Media-Siswa-things.

2. I went to Anyer with X-G and it was so so fun. Really.

3. I watched Boys Like Girls and JakJam'10 Day 2 Concert. And I won the meet&greet quiz on twitter so I had the time of my life hugging Andrew Richards from HelloGoodbye :"D

4. I went to Universal Studio Singapore on school days. And not just any school days, they were 2 days of mid-term exams :p

5. TESIS with 8 2012. It was one of the best memory in my high school life. :)

Actually, there are still many more things I wish I'll never forget, but some of them are just too... personal hehe. Anyway, I'm wishing you all will have a great year ahead. Happy New Year everyone! :D

P.S : I just read this book titled The Iron King. It’s the first book of The Iron Fey series. And I lovee it so much. I really love the characters in that book, especially Prince Ash haha. This book get 4.11 out of 5 average rating on Goodreads. If you want to see its synopsis or review, just click here.

The Book of Tomorrow

Have you ever read a book, that by the time you finished it, you feel like there's a part of you that has changed? That you finally realized this was the right book for you? Well I have. I just finished it this morning. This book titled The Book of Tomorrow.

"I think that most people go into bookshops and have no idea what they want to buy. Somehow, the books sit there, almost magically willing people to pick them up. The right person for the right book. It’s as though they already know whose life they need to be a part of, how they can make a difference, how they can teach a lesson, put a smile on a face at just the right time."
This book is about an almost-17 years old girl named Tamara who was used to get everything she ever wanted since his dad was a very successful man. But then her dad died and she had to lose everything. Her mother and she moved to her uncle's house, Arthur in the country. Her uncle's wife, Rosaleen, was a very odd woman who at the end, you'll know that she'd been hiding so many secrets.

Tamara was very bored. She didn't have any friends there. But then she found this book, a locked and old book, from the traveling library. She couldn't open it, until she met Sister Ignatius, a friendly 70 years old nun, who could unlock the key. And what she found on that book, was a diary of 'Tamara of Tomorrow'. The book told her some things that will happen on the day after she read it. And there her world changed.

Not to spoil the ending but that part was very unpredictable. She finally found out the truth about herself and her family.
And she finally realized, that she was actually a lucky girl.
"All families have their secrets, most people would never know them, but they know there are spaces, there are gaps where the answers should be, where someone should have sat, where someone used to be."
This is a highly recommended book about how tomorrow can change today. So now, can you please go to a bookstore near you, take this book, then bring to the cashier and pay it? ;)

The City That Has It All

Paris. People say it's the city of lights. The place for lovers. The most romantic city ever. The fashion capital of the world. The home of croissants. It's one city that makes me scream 'OH MY GOD I WANNA GO THERE!!!' It's an old city filled with classical buildings. Museums and statues all over the town. Like Eiffel Tower. Or the Louvre, where you can find that famous Mona Lisa painting. This city is rich of its art, beauty, and architecture.

I want to sit outside the cafe on the street. I want to walk around its beautiful park and sit on the bench when I get tired. I wanna go to the top of Eiffel Tower and see Paris from above. I wanna see those street musicians and artist, and go to that famous Opera Garnier. I wanna hop on a boat of the Seine River and feel the windy air. I wanna see that historical Arc de Triomphe. Go to one of the oldest cathedral and most gothic architecture, Notre Dame Cathedral.

Oh Paris. I hope someday I will be able to see you with my very own eyes!

Some Days

a song by Action Item

Take another picture off of my wall
Take it all down and throw it all
We've been building up to this for so long
Some days you can't prepare for

I've been holding my tongue
Holding back every word
Everything we used to have is all gone
Some days you can't prepare for

Some days I feel the world moving slowly
But it seems like I go nowhere
And some days I think I'll never get through it
But I know I will, some days

Now I'm breaking my back
Find a reason to end everything
Forget whatever we had
One day could change anything

And I don't know if the sun will ever come back out
Whatever we were, that day changed everything

Some days I feel the world moving slowly
But it seems like I go nowhere
And some days I think I'll never get through it
But I know I will, some days

I can't believe the difference a day makes
It hit like an earthquake
I can't believe I put my heart out
It rained like a storm

One day can change everything

Some days I feel the world moving slowly
But it seems like I go nowhere
And some days I think I'll never get through it
But I know I will, some day
Some day, some day, some days

Okay, I'm crying now. I'm feeling so low right now and this is exactly the kind of song I can relate to.

The Fun Part Begins

Hey fellas! So, last Saturday I went to Indah's birthday party. I went to Riri's house first to meet Adila, Anin, Cumi (and of course Riri) and went together to Citywalk Sudirman. The party was located at Tribeca NYC.

Well, I don't need to say much. Even the simplest word can describe it. It was fun with capital letters and an exclamation mark . Let me say it again. It was FUN! Hell yeah the fun part of being an 11th grader has finally begin. Okay. People say a picture is worth a thousand words. So let me show you some of the photos.

Adila, me, Cumi, Riri, and Anin (on the front)

The birthday girl, Indah, is the one who's wearing a gold-ish dress. She looks so pretty doesn't she?

Me with my some of my classmates who came to the party.

Riri, me, Lala, Cumi, and Anin

And say congratulations to this new couple. Anin and Gagas. Hope your relationship will last long. :)

These photos were taken when they were still friends (Yupsie mereka jadiannya justru setelah acara selesai), jadi maklumin aja ya kalau mereka masih malu-malu disini :*

Oke, soo, happy sweet 17 Indaah! Thank you for a great party! Hope you'll be better and better each day and will be able to make your dreams come true! :)

Three is Better Than One

Hey fellas! I thought I would spend this day at one place where I could do all the things I said I would do on the previous post. But well, I didn't. I spent my day at different places. First, I went to Kemang, tried to find a gift for Indah. But ffuu, I couldn't find it. Most stores were still closed when I got there. And I was like 'Hello, it's 12 pm!' -,-

so then, I accompanied my Dad to Ikapi Pusat at Cikini. He had a meeting there. On our way there, we stopped by at 7 eleven since I said I was hungry. Then I ate a big bite and drank a cup of hot chocolate. Ooh life's good.

After that, my Dad asked 'what are you going to do while I have my meeting? I'm telling you, it's gonna be a long meeting, and I bet you're gonna feel so bored. ' zzzzz so I decided to go to TIM and watch Narnia : The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. But, I arrived there at 3.50 pm and the movie would start at 5.20 pm. I asked myself 'what are you going to do? You came here only with your new driver who doesn't know jalan-jalan di ibu kota.' Oh fuck yeah I'm forever alone. But then BANG, I saw it. That Planetarium building. I haven't been there for a very very long time. So I went there.

It amazed me. How beautiful it would be if I could see such a clear night sky like that from my house. Oooh sometimes I wanna live in a village. Everything seems so perfect there. Ride a horse, play with my neighbors, look at the stars on a clear night sky, fall in love with a friendly cowboy, ride the same horse with my lover, get married, and live happily ever after. Oke I surely know things like that only appear in movies. But stil...

Oke enough about that.

So, let's talk about Narnia. People say this third movie of Narnia series is not as good as the other two. People say it's not worth it. But I don't care. Wanna know my opinion? As long as there's Skandar Keynes in that movie, it must be great. Oh yeah he's so adorable and hot. A kind of prince charming every girl would ever wanted. Ben Barnes does look good too in that movie. Bagi yang pengen cuci mata, bisa nih nonton film ini (Y) haha

Lilliandil: Travelers of Narnia, I am your guide.
King Caspian: You are most beautiful.
Lilliandil: If it is a distraction for you, I-I can change forms.
Edmund Pevensie and King Caspian: Noo!

Eustace. A cousin of the Pevensie. He showed up as a very annoying boy, but ended up as a hero.

Aslan, Lucy, Edmund, and King Caspian

Skandar Keynes at the movie premiere.

Another Band of the Brothers

Can you guess what's that? The answer would be.... THE SUMMER SET!

Well, not all of this band members are brothers. Actually, from five of them, there are only two persons who are brothers. hahaha :p And they both are my fave :D

The Summer Set consists of brothers Stephen (bass) and John Gomez (guitar), in addition to Josh Montgomery (guitar), Brian Dales (vocals), and Jess Bowen (drums) [FYI this Jess here is a girl. Yep, a girl drummer]. This band formed in high school. Their mission is to inject a sense of optimism back into the music scene. Jess said "“We sat down the very first day we started our band and realized that there was a lot of negativity in the music scene, which was depressing. We just wanted to bring a positive vibe.”

They've released 3 EPs and one full-length album titled Love Like This.

You see those two boys on the front? Yep they are John (wearing the glasses) and Stephen (eating the ice cream) Oh boys, have a show here please!

Here is the review of The Summer Set from 411
The Summer Set is a band that doesn't have any delusions about what it's hoping to create: fun, catchy, frothy, pop music. Some people may complain that this is cause to label Love Like This another product of easily forgettable ear candy for the teen masses. However, the genre shouldn't necessarily be cause for dismissal. Love Like This does have it's clunkers, as well as its successes. If you're in need of feel-good music, The Summer Set provides an instantaneous solution.

P.S : I just edited my layout. Hope it's for the better. :)

Freewilly

Heeey! The final exams are finally over. I'm not really satisfied with the results, but well, I'm free now! Yeaay! Welcoming the holiday!

Today, after I finished my biology and bahasa remedial tests (yes yes, gue remed bahasa. what a shame -__-) I went to sushi-ya TIS with Riri, Anin, Cumi, Dila, and Tika. We talked and talked and laughed and talked and get scared because of some spooky stories Tika told then talked and laughed again. I had so much fun today. Thank you girls! :)

Hmm but the rest of the day went not quite well. I actually wanted to go to Penvil with my sister today but she came home late. Screw traffic jam! So here I am. Stuck in front of my laptop. Reading some blogs and feeling a little jealous for their great ability to write while I'm suck with this. Soo, I think I will spend this holiday by reading some books and watch a lot of movies so I'll get some writing references.

I think tomorrow I will spend my day at the outside. Maybe in the mall or somewhere. I actually just wanna watch Tangled or maybe Narnia (my friends said Skandar Keynes looks so damn hot in that movie) then have some window shopping with my sister. ooh I also gonna buy a gift for a friend of mine. She's gonna have a birthday party on Saturday. Woohoo. Can't wait! I bet most of my good friends will be there, and we're gonna have fun!

Oke I should probably stop here. Bye!

Smile, and the whole world will smile with you

The Wizard of Oz

I bet most people have already heard about this movie. But have they actually watch it? Well I actually have heard about this movie since like forever, but it was just yesterday when I actually watched it.

The Wizard of Oz is an American classic musical movie which was released on 1939. It's a story about a farmgirl named Dorothy who lived in Kansas with her aunt Em, Uncle Henry, and a dog named Toto. One day she ran away because the sheriff in her town wanted to take Toto away. But then he met a fortune teller who told her that aunt Em was sick. So she went back home. But on her way back, there was a twister. When she finally arrived at home, she couldn't meet her aunt and uncle immediately because they were already in the storm cellar (or something like that. I dont really know what's its name :p) so she entered the house. Then she got unconscious. When she woke up, she found herself on the magic Land of Oz.

Then here's the story begin. She met Gelda, the Good Witch of the North. Gelda told her that Dorothy just killed the Wicked Witch of the East, and the Wicked Witch of the West is now angry. Dorothy was so sad. All she wanted to do was come back home. Then the good witch told her to go to Emerald City and find this mysterious Wizard of Oz who could granted her wish. She told her to just follow the yellow brick road.

On her way to the Emerald City, she met a Scarecrow who was hoping he could have a brain, a Tin Man who was really longing for a heart, and a Lion who really wanted to have the courage. So they had this journey. Ooh and don't forget that the Wicked Witch of The West was trying to kill Dorothy.

What I like about this movie is because first, it's classic. And it's musical. Then, this story showed that that there's no place like home. Ooh and the scenes taken at the farm were filmed in black and white then colored in sepia tone. While the scenes taken at the Land of Oz were technicolor.

Oke maybe you don't understand about what I said. Sorry I'm not a good reviewer :p. Anyway, just watch this movie! It is definitely a great movie (if not how could it be so popular right?).

Sometimes Tomorrow Has To Start Today

Who do you want to be when you grow up? A doctor maybe? Or a lawyer? And what are you doing now? Laying on the couch and think you have nothing else to do beside surfing the internet? Now look at the title of your tabs. What are they? If what you see are only tumblr, twitter, some bands' myspace profiles, and so on, then you're as dead as me now. I'm actually writing this as a note to myself.

In order to make your wishes come true, you have to start making it happen today. You can't just sit down and hoping that tomorrow you'll become a president. You have to stand up now and start giving a damn about what's going on in your country. You want to be a doctor, and everytime you see that super thick and big biology book, you'd say 'Naah I'm not going to study now. I still have time' ? No no you can't be like that. You have to start fighting your laziness and get your ass off of the couch.

No one will grant your wishes (unless you have a magic lamp with a genie inside :p) You better make it happen. Starting now!

I've been a dreamer for a long time, but I never really have the spirit to make my dreams come true. I still dont do what I have to do, even for the simplest of things. I'm not proud of it, of course. I'm sick of it. I want to change. But everytime I think about it, I'd say 'oh yeah I'm gonna change. Today? Or tomorrow? Well tomorrow it is.' and dang, i haven't changed yet. But now I'm saying this to myself, sometimes tomorrow has to start today.

P.S : That line I used as the title is a quote from the book 'A Book of Tomorrow' I honestly has only read the first chapter haha :p But it was good. ;)
